Reports reaching us that the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, has deactivated his Twitter account.
The standoff between the federal government of Nigeria and the microblogging platform seems to be at its peak as the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), ordered all broadcasting stations in Nigeria to suspend the use of Twitter.
This was contained in a statement issued by its Director-General, Armstrong Idachaba, on Monday morning.
Mr Idachaba said television and radio stations are advised to de-install Twitter handles and “desist from using twitter as a source (UGC) of information gathering for News and programmes presentation especially Phone-in.”
The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, has now deactivated his Twitter account. He announced this on his Facebook page this evening.
