Why I Tell Lies In Courts And Police Stations – Burna Boy

The Grammy-winning Nigerian artist, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, who is widely recognized as Burna Boy, openly acknowledges having made false statements in both courtrooms and police stations on numerous occasions.

He candidly made this admission via his Instagram story, proudly underscoring his reputation for being straightforward and forthright as the ‘African Giant.‘

The singer explained that his motivation for uttering untruths in legal settings and law enforcement agencies originates from his strong aversion to losing a case to someone he holds unfavorable sentiments toward.

Burna Boy went on to express his equal disapproval for individuals who do not harbor positive feelings towards him or his persona, which leads to his untruthfulness in court proceedings.

In his words:

“The only times I ever lied was in courtrooms and police stations. If you don’t like me, I don’t like you more than you don’t like me. You can’t win.”
